By DG Videtto

Book Overview

When their woodland home disappears, a scurry of eastern chipmunks must leave everything familiar behind and search for a new place to call home.

The eastern chipmunks of Woodlands, New Hampshire emerge from their burrows to discover that their familiar forest has been cleared and replaced by an impervious landscape. With food sources disappearing and winter torpor approaching, remaining where they are is no longer an option. Rain-Bow, Scamper, Teaberry, Birch, Ivy and the other chipmunks must leave the only home they have known and begin an uncertain journey toward Mt. Shaw. Along the way, they encounter unfamiliar surroundings, unexpected dangers and the challenges that come with adapting to a changing habitat. Working together, the scurry discovers that survival sometimes means adjusting to change, relying on one another and finding the courage to move forward. The Impervious Forest, Book 1 of The Woodland Series, is a family-friendly woodland adventure that introduces young readers to wildlife, habitat change and awareness for the natural world.
