The present study is directly related with the Child rearing practices. The child

rearing practices is affected by so many important variables like that of SES,

Education, Culture, Caste, Intelligence and Creativity etc. There is no doubt to say

that Child rearing practices are the interactions between a child and mother or it can

be said that rearing involves bringing up and taking care of the child from birth till

fourteen years of age. It is not a technical term with precise significant. As

per seare Maccaby and Levin the child rearing practices refer generally to all

those interactions, which includes the expression of the parents, values,

interests, beliefs, disbeliefs as well as their care taking behaviour. According to

Mehta the child rearing practices are reflecting of basic attitudes of the mother towards

the child. An humble attempt has been made in this study, to study the impact of

intelligence, culture and caste on child rearing practices.
