The Imagicators

If you can imagine it fully, completely, down to the last grain of sand, then it will become. That is the magic in imagication.

The Imagicators tells of a world imagined so completely, down to the last grain of sand, that it became. Now, eighty years after a girl from our world first imagicated the world of Windemere, Windemere is crumbling. The King and Queen have separated, and the civil war rages between their forces.

This chaos mirrors the turmoil in the lives of Spenser and Elaine, two youngsters from our world who are drawn into Windemere to uncover the cause of the rift, vanquish the usurper who thrives on the anarchy, and restore the balance. To do so, Spenser and Elaine must discover their own power to imagicate.

A magical adventure I just couldn't put down

This book was intriguing and extremely creative. I love fantasy books and this book was one of the best I've read! - Justin Capone

Couldn't put it down

This rollicking book should be required reading for every parent who wants to introduce her children to a fun fantasy that facilitates interesting discussion around the dinner table (or at bedtime). I'm a big fan of Harry Potter but think The Imagicators is better; it lacks some of the vaguely sexist stereotypes of Harry Potter and really incites kids to flex their imagination. Hopefully this is one in a series of books by the author.

Fantastc Fantasy

I just finished reading The Imagicators, a new fantasy by Brad Marshland. The book completely absorbed my attention. Through his clever play on words, the author has created a world where fantasy lovers can romp to their minds' delight in incredible places with astonishing playmates. This book is a must for all people on your gift list, whatever their ages.

An engrossing fantasy for young people and adults

My 10-year-old granddaughter told me she "really, really liked the Imagicators" and an 11-year-old grandson said, "It's better than Harry Potter!" Although I don't usually read fantasies, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As an educator and grandparent, I found the emphasis on personal responsibility and on one's own ability to solve problems applicable to the real world and a refreshing contrast to much of our current culture. In this book, it's the creativity and magic that come from within rather magic wands and spells that are empowering. Brad Marshland's language and creative use of words is particularly engaging, especially for adult readers. The cleverly conceived characters have delightfully individual ways of speaking. The author has truly "imagicated" well in creating this engrossing story. Young readers and those who are young at heart will be entranced with this novel.

Fun and imaginative

My brother and mom and I read this aloud together. It was great. We can't wait for the sequel. WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE?!?!
