The Image of China in Africa

The spectacular rise of China in the international arena has shown the importance of China's participation in peacekeeping operations. Yet it remains difficult to explain this soar. A variety of hypothesis have been proposed, but none scholar has been able to give a clear answer. Many factors have been proposed to elucidate Chinese engagement. In this paper, we have suggested the development of trade, growth of the state capacity, changes in perceptions aroused by repeated contacts with the outside world, the needs of the People's Liberation Army to ensure internal security, and finally the existence of inefficient military structure. The argument developed was that if liberalism allows us to take into account important economic and domestic dimensions, constructivism helps to better understand the dynamics of relations between China and Africa. Nevertheless, their Arguments were not sustainable due to the fact that realist focuses on the importance of the quest and ambitions of China in Africa, hence its presence in the peacekeeping issue has a better explanation regarding realist. China has its personnel on all four continents where there are UN missions.
