Blue James is a product of his environment. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan to a strung-out mother and an absent father; Blue was pushed into the arms of the streets at a young age. At seventeen and on the cusp of manhood, Blue is knee deep in the streets and has never experienced anything remotely close to love until he meets the girl with the camera; Cyn.
Cynica West escapes her reality by hiding behind the lens of her camera. It was the only thing her father left her before taking off to be with his new family; leaving Cyn and her mother to struggle. Every day she sits on the steps catching life as it happens. On a hot summer afternoon, Cyn takes her usual position on the second step from the top and focuses her lens looking for her next subject to shoot. Then the most beautiful thing captures her eye; Him. Without her camera he looked just another corner boy, but behind her lens she could see all the pain and hurt of the boy who was struggling to become a man.
Summers in Detroit are known for violence and chaos. However, this particular summer, young love is destined to shape the future of the girl from the stoop and the boy from the street corner. They say pictures are worth a thousand words, this one photograph, The Hustler's Photograph, was worth a million.
