THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER"My favorite kind of whodunit, kept me guessing all the way through, and reminiscent of Agatha Christie at her best -- with an extra dose of acid." -- Alex Michaelides,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
A lot of build up to an ending that could've been more fleshed out.
Did not disappoint

I thought I had it figured out...I was wrong
Fast paced, engaging

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I do agree with the reviewer that got a bit confused keeping track of who's who. Also, the "big twist" was somewhat contrived. A minor point: I didn't understand why a barroom brawl was treated so dramatically in the news and social media (you'd think he'd murdered small children AND puppies); maybe this is a cultural difference ... such an incident in the states would receive no attention at all. Despite all this, I highly recommend "Hunting Party." Especially if you liked Foley's "Guest List."
Confusing But Worth It
Published by ElizabethB , 2 years ago
This was a very good murder mystery tale with a little but of betrayal and suspense. However, I struggled at the beginning. There are 5 different POVs and a group of 11 main characters and it was hard for me to keep straight who was who. The back cover of the book has a descriptive list of some of the characters. I took a lot of time making charts attempting to figure out who matched what but I eventually gave up on that. I did enjoy the ending though. Out of the 5 POVs, we have the killer, the victim, and 3 others. I had an inkling of who was going to die from the start but I was truly surprised at who the murder turned out to be. Truly an enjoyable read that made me think and I will be looking for more Lucy Foley books in the future.
Gripping!

I love how Lucy can take a simple group of friends getting together and twisting it into such a crazy on the edge of your seat kind of tale. Lucy is such an amazing writer.
The Hunting Party Does Not Disappoint

I read Lucy Foley's "The Guest List" and loved it, so I thought I would give this story a try. I liked the story and it was a good read. I have to say that the characters weren't as interesting as "The Guest List".
Predictable but easy and enjoyable read!

Predictable but enjoyable over all. Hunting party was a quick and easy read and I didn't much have to concentrate on it. I guessed what was going on about half way through. It reminded me so much of One By One by Ruth Ware. I enjoyed both books immensely! Lucy really does know how to write mystery thriller novels that suck you in from the get go
