The Human Philosopher: What is the Purpose of My Life?

For the amateur or expert on philosophy, this book is all you need to grasp the essence of 'humanity'. If you're interested in learning more about the "why's" and "how's" of our very existence, but are tired of the same-old ideas answered by philosophers thousands of years ago, The Human Philosopher will make YOU the philosopher.

Have the following questions ever stirred in your mind?: What does it mean to be 'human'? What is 'life'? Is questioning life itself simply too linear a concept? What exactly is 'real'? Is our present society regressing to a point of no return? Am 'I' even human? We've all thought about at least one of these throughout our lives. Yet, it's a tough question, even for the most skilled philosophers, both ancient and modern. Sometimes we wish they'd deliver us an answer, since they are obviously highly praised, yes? But even with the many quotes and phrases which we may live by, there's a tendency to rely more on "them" rather than "us" for advice. And while their advice is likely sound and true, I believe it's time we start to think for ourselves. Unlike many books on philosophy or psychology, this manifesto isn't solely tied around the ideas of an ancient world. Instead, the purpose of this book is to drive your individual mind into questioning controversial ideas and established concepts, all while providing unbiased beliefs in order to do so. You might even find yourself in disagreement with much of the informative presentations. And truly, I welcome the challenge! The Human Philosopher will question you on many ideas, such including:

- Culture & Society
- Education
- Love
- Life & Death
- The Spirit & Afterlife
- Intelligence
- Race & Prejudice
- Slavery
- State & Government
- The Mainstream
- Economics
- Doers & Dreamers

Delve deep into the cosmic realm of understanding more than just humanity, but yourself. Unravel the possible limits of your mind, and think beyond that which is logical. Join the ultimate quest for personal knowledge! Know that you exist beyond the small-minded, and take pleasure in calling yourself a 'philosopher'.

James Edwards (myself) is currently 19 years old. My other book, Space Travel, was an absolute hit in 5th grade. (Ever wondered if aliens wore clothes? Then this book is for you. (They don't.)) Philosophy and psychology on any and all levels as well as horror and mysticism are favored genres of mine. Discovering almost everything this world has to offer is one of my greatest desires, and will likely continue to be going forward. What's that? Why did I decide to write a book on philosophy? Honestly, I have no idea. Maybe it sounded like fun, or maybe it was a special calling from extraterrestrials who enjoyed my previous literature. Although, whether or not they enjoyed my depiction of them is currently unknown (Sorry, Martians).
