God has dealt with man throughout many and diverse times since creation and has always required man to seek Him with a broken and contrite heart. For it is only then that man can receive God's mercy and righteousness. (Proverbs 28:13; Acts 3:19; Psalm 24:3-5) Numerous Bible teachers and theologians have named these various events in time using such titles as - dispensation, promise, covenant, etc. Whatever name you choose to call them, just understand that they are ages of time, "times before appointed" (Acts 17:26) that God has used to confirm and reconfirm His prophetic plan; a plan that has been placed into existence from the beginning with His divine purpose being, "that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after Him, and find Him" (Acts 17:27). Two thousand years ago was the planned consummation of these periods of time (Hebrews 9:26) when mankind was provided with the perfect sacrifice, the Lord Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah ..."Himself being the chief cornerstone", a sure foundation that was laid to fitly frame together "the household of God" (Ephesians 2:19-21; Isaiah 28:16; 1 Peter 2:6).
