Evan Mercer isn't looking for anything unusual when he moves into an inexpensive rental outside Pittsburgh.
The house is old. The rent is low. The landlord is vague about the previous tenant.
Nothing seems unusual-at first.
Then Evan's memories stop matching the evidence.
His coworkers say he wasn't at work on days he clearly remembers being there. His phone records don't match where he remembers going. His car hasn't traveled nearly as far as it should have.
And then he tries to leave.
That's when things become impossible.
Old photographs lead to a missing tenant named Michael Rourke. A forgotten warning tells Evan not to trust the days. And somewhere inside the house are people who may have discovered the same thing before him.
The harder Evan tries to understand what is happening, the less certain he becomes of something he once took for granted:
What day is it?
And if he has really been leaving the house every morning...
Where has he actually been going?
Some houses keep their secrets.
This one keeps its people.
