Terrific, creative book

I found The House That Jill Built at the Tate Museum gift shop while on a business trip to London and bought it for my then-two year old. The design of the book is fantastic, with dozens of windows to peek behind and some exceptionally well-engineered pop-ups. The storyline isn't deep, but this book has great replay value due to the level of detail behind all the windows. Highly recommended - I bought extra copies to keep on hand for last-minute birthday gifts for my girls' friends.

Great pop-up book

I bought this book for a 3-year-old, who loves it. There are many, many window and door flaps to open, plus a fold-out view of the entire house and a pop-up house at the end. Poor Jill is so busy adding on rooms for the various nursery rhyme characters who wander by that she runs out of space for herself and her cat. A very cute book with lots going on.

Jill Builds A Beautiful Storybook House

Jill builds a house for her and her cat. Along comes Little Jack Horner, Old Mother Hubbard, the Three Little Kittens (who've lost their mittens), Little Bo Peep, The Three Bears, and The Dish (who ran away with the Spoon) and they all want rooms in Jill's house. Jill adds onto her house so that everyone has their own space. The illustrations include flaps in the windows which open to reveal the characters performing various tasks arounds the house. The last page features a pop-up of Jill's house. The roof opens out and shows what is inside the house. This story is a lovely rendition of "The House That Jack Built", featuring classic fairytale characters.
