The House on the Hill is a memoir written from the audio excerpts of Calvert County, Maryland matriarch Marian Helen Sewell Johnson during an interview with co-author Udora Myers. The book recounts Marian's memories growing up in Southern Maryland in the house built by her father, George E. Rice, that is now a historical landmark at the Biscoe Gray Heritage Park in Prince Frederick, Maryland. This book is also a record of the research that culminated from the interest in the house of her father, containing historical facts and reporting about the land and the family that once lived there.
