A young sports reporter, Eric, always had many friends growing up in a small town due to his athletic ability and weird sense of humour.However, he has always been too shy to approach a woman to pursue a relationship. Eric has been close with a few women in the past, but he has never been a boyfriend to anyone.Eric is not giving up with the endeavour to find a perfect mate, and a new co-worker at his workplace pulls on his heart strings. The rookie reporter, Courtney, quickly becomes smitten with the way Eric talks and behaves. For a brief period, Courtney becomes another woman who thinks about giving Eric the boyfriend title.Getting in the way of this decision for Courtney is she is in a long-term relationship, and she is torn between her feelings for Eric and the love she has for her present boyfriend.After an argument leads to a break up with her boyfriend, Courtney becomes even closer with Eric, and they have a brief romance. The pair seem to be a great match, but a physical encounter with the ex-boyfriend and Eric ultimately leads Courtney back to her ex-boyfriend.Shortly after, Courtney leaves the small-town newspaper for the city, and once again Eric is alone.
