The Home World Chronicles: Darkness Rising Book One (Teen Edition)

This book tries to tells the story of two children, one boy and one girl both around twelve years old.Thomas Albertson is magic born, slightly spoilt and a bit full of his own self-importance, he is also rich and from an important family. He's smart, fit, and annoyingly good at most things but he is also unhappy and lonely.Andra Freetson is also magic born; she is a normal girl from a normal family. Not rich but then again not poor either. She likes to wear trousers and tee-shirt when possible but will wear a dress if needed. She has one best friend whom she has not seen for some time and feels lonely most of the time. Although good academically (a fact that would never admit that to anyone) she is constantly embarrassed by the fact that she is a slow developer as regards her bodily appearance. The book starts off with the two entering first year in a school that teaches magic and non-magic students alike. Before you start to think it NO, there is no waving of small pieces of wood or flying on broomsticks (broomsticks are made for sweeping after all). It's about their journey through school life and about friendship and enemies, joy and sadness, laughter and tears, life and death. It's about a dimensional evil so old that it cannot be measured in time.We are with them as they battle the evil forces that threaten to rip apart their planet and indeed the very fabric of their universe.Magic is a big part of the book but then again so is the lack of magic.Technology both new and ancient, as well as dragons and other creatures, play a part in the book also. There is quite a lot of violence in this book as well as sexual references so (although this version of the booked has been edited slightly for the younger reader) if you are easily offended stop reading now.
