A fascinating glimpse into the past. I didn't know Good Housekeeping started in Great Britain either, but I'm sure it would have also been relevant information in the U.S. as well. I'm looking forward to a mini "time travel."
The Home Front in the UK!!! but very interesting!

I was very surprised to find that Good Housekeeping was a British publication - I have not researched if the one in the US was the same magazine that I have seen all of my life or a spin-off??? All of the articles are based on the culture, government and habits of those living in the UK. Especially interesting was the article on what to do if you were a British war bride coming to the USA!! I never noticed that the book was not a US publication. It is a large hard cover, with actual pages printed in the book with tips and sayings put in boxes the size of calling cards on each page. You will learn a lot from this book and I recommend it especially to those who lived through or just after this time period.
