The Highway to Heaven: A Message to the Youth

Every journey begins with a first step. For us, the greatest journey of all is the journey to heaven. The Bible tells us that life on earth is like a road that leads somewhere: "Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it" (Matthew 7:13-14). This is the Highway to Heaven-the road of holiness, the way of Christ, the path that leads us to eternal life with God.
Young people often ask: How can I live close to God in today's world? How can I stay strong in my faith? How can I find joy and peace in a life that sometimes feels confusing or difficult? The answer is not complicated. It is not hidden. It is not far from us. The answer is a Person-Jesus Christ Himself, who said: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).
To walk this highway means to follow Jesus, to live a godly life filled with prayer, purity, and love, and above all, to remain united with Him in the sacrament of the Eucharist. The Eucharist is not only the "bread of life" that Jesus promised (John 6:35), but also the food for the journey, the strength for the weak, and the presence of Christ Himself among us and in us. When we receive the Eucharist with faith and humility, heaven already begins in our hearts.
In the pages of this book, we will look at examples of young people who chose this path-Joseph, Samuel, Daniel, Timothy, David, and St. Mary from the Bible. We will see how the Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example for every young man and woman. We will discover the power of the Eucharist in the life of the early Church and what it means for us today. And finally, we will reflect on the life of a modern youth-Blessed Carlo Acutis-who discovered in the Eucharist his strength, his joy, and his "highway to heaven."
My dear grandchildren and youth, this book is written for you. You are not too young to walk this way. You are not too weak to live a holy life. The Highway to Heaven is open before you. Christ Himself is inviting you to walk with Him, to feed on His Body and Blood, and to discover the joy of being united with Him every day.
Let us begin this journey together, trusting the Father who calls us, the Son who leads us, and the Spirit who strengthens us.Prayer to the FatherHeavenly Father, You are the source of life and love. You have opened for us the way to Yourself through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and You strengthen us by Your Spirit. Teach me to walk faithfully on the Highway to Heaven. Feed me with the Body and Blood of Christ, guide my steps with Your wisdom, and keep my heart close to You. May my life glorify Your holy name, until the day I see You face to face in the joy of heaven. Amen.
