"The Hell You Can't" is an account of a young lad ("Marty"), who had no confidence in himself. Consequently, he failed at every competitive game in which he participated. Fortunately, when he got in high school, he was persuaded by a childhood friend to join the baseball team. The Coach of the team was one who refused to except "I can't" as a response to anything, and his response to one who said, "I can't" was a vociferous: "The Hell You Can't." This had an impact on Marty and led him to become a star baseball player in high school and in college and ultimately a renowned college baseball coach. His sobriquet (nickname) became Coach, "The Hell You Can't". The book is written in playwright format in order to give a real-life effect to the characters, to make the plots unfold more naturally and thus to make the book more enjoyable to read.
