Book Overview

"Grace Burrowes is terrific." --Julia Quinn, NYT bestselling author of the Bridgerton series

He has everything but freedom. She has nothing but secrets. Together, they'll risk it all for love.

Gayle Windham, Earl of Westhaven, lives chained to responsibility, longing for escape from society's endless expectations and his father's demands for marriage. But when he retreats to his London townhouse for peace, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to Anna Seaton, the mysterious and intelligent housekeeper whose presence challenges everything he thought he wanted.

Anna carries secrets that could ruin them both, but she cannot deny the quiet passion growing between herself and the gentle, protective earl. As hidden truths threaten to surface, Gayle faces an impossible choice: safeguard his family's reputation or risk everything for the woman who could set him free.

Bestselling author Grace Burrowes delivers a lushly written Regency romance brimming with emotional depth, simmering passion, and unforgettable characters--perfect for fans of Bridgerton and Georgette Heyer.

A book you won't put down!

The story grabs you from page one and transports you to the era of Regency England. The story is well written and engaging; the characters come to life in the hot summer of London. Grace Burrowes weaves the tale seamlessly of the heir to a dukedom and a young woman hiding secrets; yet seems to know all of the heir's... This is the author's first book and she hits gold on her maiden voyage... Be prepared to laugh, snort, sigh, cry and cheer throughout the book!
