The Heartsinger is the third in a fantasy romance series where dragons and humans are learning to coexist on a sentient planet. Humans and Dragons are both psychic and the power that comes from the planet that has previously been confined to the dragons is now being shared with the humans. In The Heartsinger Tad and his brother Hess set out with their dragon friends to rescue two youngsters. Pit and Thane divert other dragons who are following and threatening to attack leaving the two humans to transport two baby dragons. Tad and Hess are surprised and suspicious when they discover other humans in the mountains. Under the circumstances they are forced to limit the amount of help they offer in order to protect the youngsters under their care. When help finally arrive they go back and discover that Dotty, who they left behind has a rare and enthralling talent. She is a natural heartsinger, able to draw out emotion with song. As time goes on Tad comes to accept that Dotty is also his mate, the one person his mind longs to bond with, to share a single connection to the planet linking them life to life, mind to mind and heart to heart. After the bond begins to form Tad and Dotty discover that she has been poisoned and their life together may be much shorter than either of them hoped.
