heartbreak aches, stings, and puts the most bitter taste on your tongue. after months of isolating myself and weeping, i began a garden. planting what were first only a few seeds, to now a small book, each poem comes entirely from within. in the heart you molded, you will walk through patches of blissful memories, earth shattering recollections, along with the droughts and blooming buds to follow. originally only a few diary thoughts, i created a way to heal, grow, and later bloom. putting back pain and love into these poems as i would a real garden, nothing compares to the support i was given. to those who watered me to flourish with confidence, this is for you, as well as those who struggle with sudden sadness. i hope you enjoy the scenery, and don't forget to stop and smell the peonies. with love and kindness always, p.
