Emily is an eleven year old with a vivid imagination. She lives in a small prairie town near Winnipeg, Manitoba with her mother and younger brother. Emily likes to make up stories but when she is in a meadow imagining her next escapade for her friend, Jen, a real live castle magically appears. With knees knocking together, Emily musters up her courage to creep inside the castle to discover the wildest adventure yet. She meets creatures from elves to fairies and an evil sorcerer with terrible powers. Nib, a comical elf who loves the colour purple, is an instant friend and Ever, the wise fairy, is the keeper of the fairy sand. Another elf, Theloneous, loves to write great tombs of life instruction and shows Emily the hidden passageways in the castle. Emily discovers that the evil sorcerer is locked in the dungeon of the castle. She explored the whole castle with her new friends and in the gallery finds Sluondrath's portrait. While she stood looking at his picture, a roar seemed to reverberate throughout the room. Then the wicked Sorcerer King awakes after 1000 years in the castle dungeon. Only a Mage can subdue the sorcerer, Sluondrath. Emily has a nightmare revealing the sorcerer in his cell. He pointed at her and said, 'You will be next, Mage". Nib leads Emily's family and Sergeant Coburn to the castle and all the castle inhabitants cheer when they realize Emily is a mage. The only way that Emily can overcome this wicked sorcerer is with the Heart Prism and tremendous courage.
