Texas After the Civil War

Whether writing under the Al Cody name, the Archie Joscelyn moniker or the Lynn Westland by-line, Al Cody writes a good western, well worth reading. Heart of Texas is no different. They say history often repeats itself and for John Marston and Dan Rather it does, as once before they had both loved the same woman and fought over her. Now that the Civil War was over they were heading home, but first Marston wanted to visit the Southern general's daughter he had seen and get to know her better. When Rather saw her photograph he recognized something about her and knew history was about to repeat itself, but this time it would be a fight to the finish between the two. Throw in a few carpetbaggers to stir the pot and things really get messy.
