The Healing Book: Facing the Death and Celebrating the Life of Someone You Love is a unique and special grieving book for children and families. It's an activity book, journal, and conversation-starter to help children and families express their feelings, ask questions, and explore their memories about a loved one who has passed away. This book can become a powerful tool in the healing process as it opens lines of communication while also inviting young readers (6-12) to create a scrapbook of memories that can last a lifetime.
A fantastic Memory and Healing Book for Grieving Kids!

The Healing Book is a memory book that is designed to help children and teens who have experienced the death of someone close to them. It is a place to remember and celebrate the life of someone who has died, while at the same time exploring the complicated and often scary questions that kids have about death. The Healing Book uses real language such as died and death, rather than euphemisms like loss or passed. This is very important because grieving children and teens need real words and real language to help them come to terms with the death of someone they love. This book is very hands on, with a lot of spaces for kids to write down how they're feeling and what they're experiencing. It is very detailed, colorful and well written. It paves the way for children to have ongoing discussions about the person who died and also discussions about why people die in the first place. I highly recommend this book!
What a wonderful book for a grieving child/family

This was one of two books I purchased to help my friend's children grieve and remember their mother. This book is wonderful at helping children explore and express their feelings. It reassures them that any feelings they might be having right now are okay. I absolutely love that this book can also serve as a keepsake. I bought this at Barnes & Nobles for 16.95 + tax, but if I could have waited I would have purchased it here at the lower price. I highly recommend this book for a grieving child that is old enough to read and write on their own. I think it could also help open conversation for the greiving family.
