It's summer in the Willamette Valley, and life is getting back to normal for Danielle Baker and her children. But their peace is shattered when Natalie calls.

"I'm at my parents' house, and I need your help. How quickly can you get here?"

A man was found murdered at an over-55 party that Natalie's parents, Nonna and Papi, had attended, and Detective Nigel Hawksworth is investigating.
