Set in the world of the Vulpecula Cycle with the same Silk Road sensibility, The Haunting at Ice Pine Peak is inspired by popular monster horror films of the 1930s and is a cross between "Dark Shadows" and Chinese literary classics like The Dream of Red Mansions.The Haunting at Ice Pine Peak won the Bronze for Young Adult Fiction E-Book in the 2016 Moonbeam Children's Book Awards.
