The Harm Effect

The Harm Effect is about trauma and how it can disfigure a soul and spirit with its cruelty. Because of harm, I live with mental illness: Dissociative Disorder, CPTSD (more than one trauma), Bipolar II, and GAD. The debilitating mental illness, overreactions, bad decisions, insanity, and heartbreak weave in and out of a chronological view. Yet the times of courage, hope, love, and tenacity construct, in limited space, a light and free heart.

"Mom didn't think anything of dropping me off at his apartment. It never occurred to her that anything remotely wrong would happen...He was an actor...one minute he was dressed, the next not. He said to come into the bedroom...". I was sixteen. He was thirty-one.
