Erni and Daryl Johnson first purchased the property that became the Hannah Dudley House Inn in 1990, after a long search for just the right location to fulfill their dream. Over the next ten years, they created their vision of a luxury retreat, including its many delicious culinary aspects. The Hannah Dudley House Inn Cookbook was originally composed on various size scraps of paper, stuffed in one of the kitchen drawers at the Inn. It then found its way to a partially typed version in a loose-leaf binder. But with the continual discovery of new dishes and delights, this "book" also began to overflow with additional recipes, hastily transcribed on random pieces of paper. This newest incarnation of The Hannah Dudley House Inn Cookbook now includes not only the Johnson's favorite Inn recipes, but also a series of anecdotes describing the "joys" of innkeeping, culled from Erni's personal journals.
