Kimberley glanced appreciatively at her mirror as she checked her last touches of makeup. She was perfect, as usual. A glance at his watch confirmed that he was thirty minutes late. Her friends had waited long enough, it was time to join them.
Twenty minutes later, her gleaming Bentley sports coupe arrived noisily in front of the entrance to a palace in central Vancouver where she used to be. Kimberley got out and tossed the keys to the valet, barely giving him a glance. Lara and Terry were waiting for her next to the entrance, visibly frozen in their little schoolgirl outfits. They didn't point out to him that they had been getting impatient for almost an hour, they had long understood that Kimberley thought of herself as a starlet and that her delays were part of the lot.
