This book carries on where Gus 1 left off and it still gives more insight from the other side of residential care

Must read for anyone working with youth in the Social Services

This book and its' predecessor, "The Gus Chronicles" capture what it's like to be a kid in residential treatment spot on. The biggest problem I see with people working with youth in these settings is a refusal or inability to see things from the kids' point-of-view. It is nearly impossible to connect with these kids in order to help them without that quality. Enter Gus. Charles Applestein's fictional genius kid can help those who wish to help youth to gain that insight. Read it and take it to heart and I'll guarentee that it'll make your job easier and more fulfilling. Without question.
