good place to start

You cant go wrong with this title.Quality information at a really good price. It's out of print now, so get it before it's gone.I want to add this warning,it has nothing to do with this book, but rather the learn at home schools, that promise to make you a gunsmith from the comfort of your own home. Please don't fall for any of these rip off joints.I had taken the Foley Belsaw course years ago, it was a rip off then and it has not gotten any better.I repeat all off these schools are a joke. There is only one name That I can tell you that offers a decent learn at home program and that is AGI. They use DVD's to instruct you in many different areas of gunsmithing ,with the added benefit that the instructors are all big name pros, for example the head instructor is from lasser college one of the few colleges that offer a Gunsmith course.Lasser is a campus school not a learn at home school. The owner of AGI asked the dude to work for him after retirement.Oh and by the way it is not cheap, the courses start at around $4000 and go as high as $8000 bucks, that is not a miss print. And AGI"s course is not perfect either ,but it as good as your going to get from learn at home.Don't get me wrong AGI is no rip off joint, or some get rich from your own home scheme, and you will learn real world Gunsmithing from there courses, but as I have said they are not perfect. There are no manuals or books it is all DVD's.But there is a huge amount of material covered and they do give you tons of discs and they do go into real deep detail on all of the subjects they cover.Try taking one of the small courses like ,stock bedding or recoil pad instillation to get your feet wet.I believe you will love them( I did )The biggest thing is you don't feel like a dam ass for giving them your money.Which believe me you will giving it to any other learn at home course offered today. How many of you reading this have tried one of those other gunsmith courses, and were just completely disappointed at what you received.Be really honest with yourself ,Would you allow anyone to work on a firearm who took the course from say Foley Belsaw or Penn Foster ,PCDI.They are a joke, the material consists of cheaply printed magazine like workbooks, that are about 30 pages long and you receive maybe 10 or 12 of these silly things. And then it's well your a Gunsmith.Again be Honest with yourself, really honest, would you feel confident if a person handed you a firearm and asked "is this thing safe to fire" if you answered "yes" from what you learned from one of those courses I have warned you about, you are delusional and should not be anywhere near a firearm. With the AGI course you will feel confident because you are really learning about firearms, and how they are designed and constructed.AGI sell knowledge not cheap tool sets. That is another thing don't fall for the tools included,a cheap import screwdriver set and a knock off grace brass hammer are what you are going to get.Oh yeah, please tell me how yo
