The Daliang Mountains is a mountain range in the southwestern part of China and is home to the Yi ethnic minority. As the most destitute area in China right now, it's receiving the targeted-poverty-alleviation plan from the government and coming into public notice more. My mother and I went there two times this year and had close interactions with the people there. Using a combination of words and photographs, I'm trying to show the Yi people's joy at living in this beautiful place and being secluded from the clamor of the outside world, despite the extreme poverty, and their spirit of guarding their home.
