The humble Gogen puzzle is a simple puzzle that you can solve on a short bus journey but we'll have none of that here - there is a dark side, a very dark side and we are not even talking about an evil twin. There are a number of additional types of puzzle - the Uber-Gogen, the Ultra-Gogen and just when you thought it was all getting a bit difficult, the Hyper-Gogen puzzle. Gone are all of those comforting real words, the mass of anchor squares, the repeated letter bonds that real words insist upon having and being sort of confident that the Q and U were likely to be close to each other - all you have left is logic. But, we haven't finished there. Extending the HyperGogen is the HyperGogen+ which has within it a nine plus letter word hidden away. Then there is also the GoldenGogen which is like the HyperGogen+ except that now, the layout is designed by hand and there is no limit as to how close the clue cells can be to each other.These puzzles are truly difficult, an ideal gift suitable for any puzzle addict who is a cut above the rest and has a lot of time on their hands.Being a diary, the problems are grouped into weeks so that each Monday, you have an easier puzzle and then it becomes increasingly difficult as the week goes on until on the Saturday, you have a HyperGogen + and on the sunday, you have a GoldenGogen.As always, the answers are in the back so that you can check should you so wish.Have fun.
