The Grimoire of Deci: Aimsireil: Book One

By Barbara Eberhard

According to prophecy, four are born to inherit the power of the grimoires: Deci, Taine, Mard, and Urra. These four are the Grimoire Mages, the only ones who can tame the power of the Grimoires and use all the magic possessed therein.
The Grimoire Mages keep the world of Aimsireil in balance. Though each is in charge of his or her own element, the four work together to ensure the four elements - air, water, fire, and earth - work in harmony.
Every two generations, they search for their replacements among the mages of Aimsireil, by having the brightest and strongest prove their worth in a search for the Grimoires. Once the winner has been determined, the old Grimoire Mage trains the new Grimoire Mage, so that knowledge, skill, and experience required for that element is retained.
Then a call comes that the Grimoire Mage of Deci has died unexpectedly. Young mages from all over Aimsireil join the contest to find the Grimoire of Deci and prove that they have been chosen to replace the dead Grimoire Mage.
But no one knows where the Grimoire of Deci is or how to tame its powers.
