A complete appraisal of the most valuable commodity on Earth.

This book is unlike any of the other books I have read from the Greenpeace stable. It is a complete appraisal of the subject of water - and a most expert appraisal it is too. Naturally, the emphasis is on conservation - but that is just as it should be. After all, where would all life be without water? In this book, the author has skilfully laid out the subject in a readable and easy to follow manner so that the reader is able to build on what has been read so far. Most of the chapters are self-explanatory and are headed; Water and the Planet, Drinking Water, What Price Cleanliness?, Healing Waters, Freshwater Harvest, Water in a Straitjacket, Water for Crops, An End to the Dam Age?, Waterways, The Demands of Industry, Overexploitation and Neglect, Hope for the Future and A Fresh Perspective. Completed in the customary knowledgeable and well-researched style which one expects from Greenpeace, this book will give all who read it a wider understanding and appreciation of this - the most valuable commodity on Earth. I do not believe any person who reads this book will ever waste a drop of water - ever again. The photography is simply stunning throughout and commences with the book's front cover itself. NM

I have the spanish edition (El libro del agua-Editorial Debate)and I want to see if there is a possibility to organize a work group in Santa Cruz-Bolivia in order to help Greenpeace making concience to the people what are we doing with our water resources and our enviroment.
