After a perilous mission to a huge asteroid, a crew returns to its space station, unaware a bit of ooze from the asteroid clings to a crewman's uniform. The green goop grows -- into murderous, tentacled monsters. And as station members fight to live, gunk from the monsters' wounds turns into more monsters! That's the story. Legs have not changed much. Perhaps a tad svelter.

Nowadays, the CGI is not good enough to make it look mature; it is difficult to make the sound effects happen a second before or after the event. The last time I heard dialogue like this was in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum " Hero: For us, there will never be happy. Philia: We must learn to be happy without it. The movie’s namesake looks like kudzu on steroids. The sci-fi part of the story is just surface dressing. The value of the lives of the cadets is not important. Neither is it important if Jack (Robert Horton) be nimble or Jack be quick. The true message of the film is to determine the best way to command. Whether it is best to be ruthless and by the book or flexible to the point of insubordination.
