This is an innocent story about love, life, laughter, and tears. I had a stepfather as a young boy and met new relatives. I formed a life long bond with my new step-grandmother. She was a sage and became my teacher, adviser, guide, and mentor. If I were a sculptor, I would build some sort of monument, but I am just an ordinary guy and the only talent I can claim is the ability to speak and hopefully be understood.Mary Ball was a woman worth knowing. This entire book is more of a conversation about my experiences with her wisdom. She was born before 1900. She suffered and survived through two world wars, depression, rationing, Korea, Vietnam, and of course life, love, children, in-laws grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more. She is a person you would be proud to know and you deserve to meet her. She has left this world but her spirit remains. I have tried to introduce you to her in these pages.
