A therapy experiment at first, this book is a compilation of poems, journal entries, short stories, and essays that I wrote from 1987 to 2008. In April of 2008, due to a horseback riding accident, I lost portions of my memory. Much of my childhood experiences and many small details of my adult life were simply missing from my mind. I have a green metal box where I stored much of my writing. As a way to help jog my memory, in 2015, I pulled out that box and began to try to remember. Going through the box and reading each piece, gave me the idea of pulling some of them together into a book. This became a family project with my husband reading each piece, my daughter editing it, and everyone having a little bit of say in the end result. Although some of the writing is not perfectly rhymed and the rhythm lags sometimes, this is a walk through my personal journey through my late teen years, into a young marriage, through the birth of our three children. This book is a look inside me. I hope you enjoy it.
