Great sports stories that are well known despite the statement of the title

Great sports stories are the ones that you are always eager to hear, even though they are familiar to you. That is the case with most of the stories in this book and the title is a misnomer, for I had heard nearly all of the stories before. Nevertheless, even if you are familiar with them, it is still a joy to read them again, for they are all about the excitement and unusual events that are so common an occurrence in sports. One of the most attractive things about sports is that you never know when you will witness something that you have never seen before. The 34 stories in this book are so interesting that they remain exciting even when you are simply reading about them and many different sports are highlighted.

Stories are short, but detailed with facts

When I was a in junior high, I enjoyed reading any book of this nature that I could find. This book was a joy to read, but I want to add one caveat to the script. I was the subject in the third chapter, THE BUZZER BEATER, and the author took great poetic license to write the story. Many facts were true, but I have the videocassette today which was copied from an old 16 mm film which would definitely shed the whole truth.
