The Greatest of These is Love

By Dylan Pierce

What does it actually mean to love like Christ?

We often talk about love as though it were simply an emotion, but Scripture presents something much deeper. Love changes how we live, how we treat others, how we respond to conflict, how we serve, and ultimately how we relate to God.

In The Greatest of These Is Love, Dylan Pierce examines what it means to put Christlike love at the center of the Christian life. Drawing from Scripture and his own experiences, Pierce explores what happens when we learn to:

Love God above everything elseLove our neighbors, even when we disagreeLove our enemies and pray for those who oppose usLove and serve our familiesLet Christ transform the way we work and livePursue unity within the body of Christ rather than divisionExamine our motives for serving GodCorrect and restore others without falling into condemnationExtend God's grace toward ourselvesSurrender our desires and priorities to GodSeek first the kingdom of God

This isn't a book written from the perspective of someone who has mastered these things. It is the story of someone who has struggled with them, failed at them, and repeatedly found himself being corrected and transformed by God.

The second edition revisits the original work years later, adding personal reflections throughout the book that examine how the author's understanding has changed and where God is still teaching him to grow.

At its heart, The Greatest of These Is Love is a call to return to the foundation of the Christian life: loving God and allowing His love to transform the way we love everyone else.

Because when everything else is stripped away, the greatest of these is love.
