You know all those doodles you like to draw in the margins of your notes during class? Did you know those could be used for the powers of good and not evil? Did you know they could actually help you learn - not distract you or make people think you're not paying attention? We created The Greatest American History Book Ever...Ever...Ever...Ever... (use your best echo voice) with very little magical power in order to help you review, reinforce, and recall information from US history. This is not a psychology experiment, and it is not a test; it gives you a different way to gain knowledge and confidence - and you'll wow your friends! Here's how it works: When you draw, your brain takes a "mental snapshot" in order to transfer the image from your brain to the paper. Look inside the pages of the book and you'll see something interesting. The pages on the left contain brief yet detailed information about major events from US history. On the bottom of each one you'll see arrows that "Link It Back" and "Link It Forward" to help you connect events across different eras. The pages on the right contain original doodles that present the historical events in fun and memorable ways. Each right-hand page also includes a spot to take your own notes and places to label the doodle, and you even get to recreate the doodle so your brain can retain the most important stuff. The cool thing about this process is that combining the "mental snapshot" (the doodle) with the historical information exercises BOTH hemispheres of your brain - the artsy side and the logic side - making it far more likely that you'll hold on to that information. The best part? The book is created to be YOUR project. Whether you're prepping for a unit test, essay, midterm, state, or AP exam, or you're someone who is just interested in catching up on the oldies, you can make this book work for you. Think there's too much information? Only take brief notes. Think there's not enough information? Add more notes! Even add your own drawings in the blank canvas we've left for you on each drawing page! Think you can't draw? Label and trace the original drawing that's there to help you remember the info. Moral of the story? Do good, not evil. Read. Label. Draw. Learn!
