The Gravity of Us
The story follows Juno, a "Stack-rat" scavenger living in the impoverished, low-gravity Rust-Stack slums. Survival defines her life, and she uses her "air-sense" and a mysterious magnetic relic around her neck to navigate the shifting physics of her world. Years prior, a catastrophic gravity failure claimed her sister, Kira, a tragedy that haunts her.
The plot ignites when an Elite ship from the high-gravity zones crashes into the slums. Juno rescues the pilot, Reid, a pampered High-G researcher. Their initial friction gives way to a forced partnership when they realize the gravity fluctuations are not natural, but the result of a deliberate conspiracy by the Elite Council.
As Juno and Reid travel from the slums to the pristine Center Ring, their relationship develops into a "binary" bond-a unique gravitational connection forged by the Core's energy. They discover that Juno's relic is actually a stolen fragment of the Core's heart. To save Aethra from a total "Rejection Theory" collapse, they must infiltrate the heavily guarded Justice Spire and return the fragment.
The climax involves a daring breach of the Core chamber, where Juno must brave crushing pressure and electrical storms to heal the planet. The story concludes with the Council's corruption exposed to all Rings and a new, stable era for Aethra. Ultimately, it is a tale of equilibrium, as Juno and Reid find their own center of gravity in each other, bridging the gap between the world that falls and the world that stays grounded.
