The first time I read this book to my children, they liked it so much, they gave it a round of applause. I asked them what they would say about it for this review, and they said it was good, incredible, beautiful, and engaging. Even my ten-year-old said it taught her something she didn't know before about what Jesus did (fed 4,000 people on another occasion beyond feeding 5,000).
I love this book paired with Gospel of Mark for Little Ones (also by Sara Beth Meyer and Allison Hsu) because I'd describe Mark as more of a narrative of Jesus' actions and Matthew as a summary of Jesus' teachings. I'm pleased with how they complement each other, both in the text and the illustrations. I would definitely recommend getting them both!
This would make a perfect baptism gift, First Communion gift, Easter gift, or Christmas gift.
This wonderful book will help children and adults to learn and know Christ.

Sara Meyer hit the ball out of the park with this book! She took the gospel Matthew and made it simple to understand for both children and adults alike. The summary of the chapters with the beautiful illustrations give a concise picture of the life of Jesus. The book is written in a way that makes it easy for children to understand the gospel and the love of God. We highly recommend this book not only for families, but for use in schools to help our children learn and know about Christ.

A delightful combination of thoughtful writing, beautiful art, and insightful messages. This deserves a prominent spot in any Little One's collection.
