Ex-con Giscard murders the noted archeologist Professor Geoffrey Blount and then tries to kill the only witness, graduate student Steve Prill. Before dying Professor Blount leaves Prill a conceited parrot and the secret to an ancient treasure mentioned in one of the Dead Sea Scrolls that was hidden in the Israeli hills. Joining Prill in his hunt for the treasure are his best friend from college and four retired US servicemen. The expedition leader is the extraordinary Colonel John Moses. These are the Good Scouts.
