Loved the book

This little book provided much enjoyment. I felt as though I was on a journey with the author. In each short story I cared for the characters and was engrossed with the outcome. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Vernetti in the future.

What a great book

I was fortunate enough to meet the author, Joe, before I read his book. I talked with him for a while and was able to get to know him a little. He asked me if I was interested, or had read about, existential philosophy. At the time we talked I had not read anything on it. He said the book was based on those principles. I took the time to read the book. It was great! He is able to quickly capture your attention and hold onto it one page after another. I was constantly reading in a way that I was always excited to see what was going to happen next. This book is definitely worth the read, and does touch on the principles that I feel existential philosophy, in my limited understanding, is really about. Joe has been nice enough through emails to also keep me pointed in the right direction through my readings on philosophy as well. In summary it's a great book that's sure not to disappoint.

Funny, unexpected stories--with themes that hang with you. . .

Within this small book are stories, letters, and poems--some funny, some remarkably poignant, yet all entertaining, well-written, and very insightful. Read them in order. The widely-varied narrative voices will make you laugh out loud; they will make you think; they will make you cry; and some will take your breath away. A truly inspiring read that leaves you looking at your own life--at your choices, your perspectives, your decisions, and your actions.

Big Surprises come in Small Packages

When I bought this book, I expected just short stories that were "cute"...but I was totally knocked for a loop when I read the first story. The author puts you right there with the action and you know what the characters are thinking because it's like they're talking to you and you only. In one of the stories, you feel like you're reading an adventure story and waiting for the main character to meet his fate...just wondering how he is going to get himself out of "this" one. I would recommend it to anybody who enjoys some light reading with a twist.

Good, Emotional, Yet Funny Read

I was really surprised after reading the book to learn that the author did in fact write each story. I thought it was a collection. I don't know how this guy finds all those different voices. I loved it. Even though I was looking for lite reading, I did appriciate what it made me think about. Good luck to Joe in the future - tlux
