Extremely Entertaining Historical Fiction

This was found by me among the 1950s-1960s Romance Novels of an aunt of mine years ago. Having nothing else to do & picking this up at random, I was surprised to find that it was a very entertaining book. Well researched and well written (leaving out the books title, which I’m sure was urged upon the author by the publisher), I found it to be a creative fantasy that could be interesting, at times touching and even somewhat exciting. This is not your average romantic novel; it is too well-written. I am a little disappointed that it was never discovered by those who create films, it could have perhaps been very good if handled by the right individuals. At any rate, I highly recommend this novel. It has always been one of my favorites.
