About the Author:
Lura Jackson grew up on the rural northeastern coast of Maine. There she learned, with the help of her parents, a robust appreciation for nature and ecology. She carried that forward into a fascination with human history and cultures, culminating in an interdisciplinary master's degree from the University of Maine with a focus on peace and reconciliation. In her career as a journalist, she continues to meet - and learn from - people, places, and animals from all walks of life. Her other books include Images of America: Eastport and Images of America: Calais.
