Throughout the centuries of Earth's turbulent past, a malignant, neo-fascist death-cult known as the Soul Harvesters have schemed to one day gain control over civilization.
Late in the 22nd century, a quantum singularity, God's Light, blossoms into dazzling life near Earth orbit, unleashing an Armageddon of flame and devastation, killing millions, plunging the world into abject suffering. Through the rift, humanity restively watches the remote cosmos where belligerent, advanced aliens clash for supremacy.
Now, the Soul Harvesters have mutated into Overlord, a malevolent entity reigning over a dystopian Earth. Surmising the singularity aliens are an existential threat to their rule, Overlord tasks their finest scientists, the Gods of Chimera, to create genetically-engineered soldiers using a fearful population as ill-fated test subjects. Across the planet, paranoia flourishes while a melancholic people search for the light of hope within the darkness of their tortured lives.
One such alienated soul is Detective Klaus J rgen M eller, a misanthropic anti-hero barely surviving in a bioengineered district of war and desolation. Tormented by his son's death at the time of the cataclysm, and his wife's subsequent descent into madness, he self-medicates with high-end synthetic drugs, rejects his own existence, and lives in a forever nightmare of sorrow and self-annihilation.
In a futuristic noir of rebirth and redemption, M eller is tasked with a secretive murder investigation connected to the development of the chimeras. Drowning under his own fractured sense of self, with time running out and pressure crushing him from all sides, he must evade tyranny, reckon with the sins of his past, and confront the looming doom of an alien invasion from the sinister unknown.
