One is an up-and-coming beautiful actress, the other is her down the skids famous hubby, and in between comes this loud-mouth agent from hell who'll use her hot new star's status to help destroy what was once considered the happiest marriage in Hollywood. Move over Jackie Collins and make room for Leslie Deane; her GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN HAIR is an addictive and compassionate romp of the glitzy days of the late 70's where women had big hair and men had bigger egos. Their intertwining complicated lives are a first-rate read. Deane always stays one step ahead as she delivers a gripping tale of ambition and revenge where success definitely has its low-down. Sure, her concocted plot may sometime resemble the real life Farrah Fawcett/Lee Majors' union of the same era, but its fast-paced rhythm and its impressionable twists and turns make TGWTGH an original on its own.-----Martin Boucher

The ups and downs of two hollywood stars who are married, but has a hard time dealing with success, especially when one becomes bigger than the other. Set in the 70s, THE GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN HAIR reminds the reader of the hoopla made over two decades ago of then sex-symbol Farrah Fawcett and her six million dollar man Lee Majors. Interwine with many characters, the author succeeds in penning an entertaining yarn that always keep above water. Her characters are delightful in a jackie Collins-ish way. Bed-hoppers, drug addicts, ruthless agents... They each deal with fame and fortune their own way and stepped on one another while doing so. The novel is FILLED with juicy details on how the system works. A great start from the author who's second book, STAR POWER, is as engrossing as this one.
