_The Girl Who Ate Chicken Feet_is a collection of touching "coming of age" stories. Set in the south in the turbulent sixties, it paints a realistic picture of how one young girl gradually becomes aware of the world outside her own. Wonderful characters, lovingly drawn.

Character portrayals accurate and authentic.

I fell in love with Sissy from the very first moment she prissed across the page. Her escapades with Deloris take me back to the days of my childhood and the relationships I formed with my own cousins.Ms. Richardson portrays life in the rural South during the fifties with accuracy and charm, and has given her characters voices that are hauntingly authentic.This book is a delightful read for children and adults as well.
