Night had come, and she walked with Benjamin under the stars and streetlights of London. Anne loved spending time with her imagination, so it was natural for her to picture the hands of time slipping back. In the distance, she envisioned a lamplighter, out making his rounds up and down the old street, lighting lamps to welcome the night. Taking the tube to Benjamin's flat, they made a beautiful picture sitting together. Neither spoke. He had his arm around the girl, while she rested her bright head on his shoulder--lovers, like any lovers anywhere in the world. No one knew their names. Modeling is not without its challenges and pitfalls and a war raging in Vietnam has an unexpected hold on Anne. Anne learns to navigate an unexpected career, a foreign city she comes to know as home.
