Middle-aged clerk, Reuben Rudge has been writing sci-fi novels for years, and after his 1000th rejection letter he drowns his sorrows watching a late night documentary about BDSM. In the morning he wakes up naked on the floor with a manuscript to post.

He receives a letter addressed to Ms Raspberry Caine inviting her to discuss publication of her adult novel, Disciplinary Attraction. Rudge finds the MS on his laptop and is shocked by its content. Fearing a lack of credibility he persuades a young woman at his bus stop, Becky to pose as Raspberry Caine at the meeting. The book is a bestseller and Becky bluffs her way through literary functions attended by the 'arty-farty' glitterati. Rudge is under pressure for a sequel and Becky helps by documenting the kinky exploits of their celebrity friends, but forgets to change their real names. Will a scandal unfold?
